Deploying a fully functional fund to compensate poor countries hit by climate change is among the major goals set out for the United Nations COP28 summit that starts in November.

Delegates from the almost 200 countries at the gathering must also set targets for tripling renewables and doubling hydrogen production by 2030, Sultan Al Jaber, president designate of COP28 and head of Abu Dhabi National Oil Co., said Thursday at a meeting in Brussels.

Harvard New Venture Competition - UCSF Genentech Hall

The Bay Area Alumni Clubs of all the Harvard schools have come together to offer a regional "One Harvard" New Venture Competition (1HNVC).  The program offered qualified applicants an opportunity to present to a large group of VC and Angel investors, receive free software, products, and services, and compete for cash prizes.  In 2019, over $1 million of prizes were awarded to competing startups. 

Venture capital deals in the United States and China tend to get the most attention, but VC dollars flowing to Europe have quietly been on the rise.
